Steph was a founder member and co-director of Swiss company Le Collectif des Mondes Contraires (2000-2010). The company’s mission was to ‘to go towards’ - to travel, create and collaborate with local theatre artists and perform for communities without conventional access to theatre. In addition to works created in Switzerland, her work with the company included directing young performers from favela communities in Brazil, devising a mask piece which toured the Mongolian steppe, and performing in the mountain communities of Nicaragua.
In 2013, Steph was engaged as the Artist in Residence at the Women's Circus and was appointed Artistic Director in 2014.She is currently developing a theatre-circus production of for 2016 to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Women's Circus
